The Captain

Paul Grunsell, owner and operator of Reliance II Charters, has been involved in the Newcastle fishing industry for most of his life. His father, Bob Grunsell, began Government Shark Meshing in 1950, a family tradition which Paul joined in1976, eventually taking over in 1980.

A diesel mechanic by trade, Paul's marine experience includes Government Shark Meshing in the Newcastle, Central Coast and South Sydney regions, as well as charter and commercial fishing in the Newcastle and Swansea areas over the past 30 years.

Paul values his contacts with many of the local fishermen which enhances his own knowledge and experience of local fishing grounds.
